RE-CREATION

Aim: RE-CREATION is a queer & female led experimental audio-visual project told in seven chapters - a mythology of self-discovery.

RE-CREATION is an audio-visual mythology of self-discovery - the birth of an artist, mirroring the seven days of creation. The narrative explores a symbiotic relationship between the world that shaped her and the world she reshapes. The seven videos will encapsulate one continuous story narrated through lyrics & musical compositions.       

This project is important for us to share a relatable female & queer experience of an artist trying to co-exist with the world around her. We (writer-composer & director) both experienced the need to de-construct the reality around us to find acceptance. While the origins of the story are very much self-reflective, through its abstract and symbolic re-telling they become approachable and universal.      

As a queer & female led project, we are collaborating with mostly queer, female and non binary creatives of varying disciplines for RE-CREATION. Because the subject matter of this project was created from a queer perspective, we'd like to involve those voices in our collaborations. We are working with people who have a varying level of experience in the film industry and we are very motivated to use this project as a way to connect people, hopefully leading to future projects!            

We have completed one of the chapters already and are actively organising the next shoots! Being a self-funded project on the side of our day jobs is very challenging and we are incredibly grateful for everyones support so far. We have amazing and talented people involved - some of who work professionally in the industry and are helping us achieve our vision on a very affordable scale. However, we are still struggling to cover all of the expenses like: travel costs, equipment hire, catering, costume materials. Even a little donation of a few pounds could help us to make this beautiful project come to life!
