RBC Boat Club - Rowing Parents Assoc - Fundraiser

Aim: RBC Boat Club needs more Concept 2 Ergo machines. The aim is for the Rowing Parents Association of RBC Boat Club to fund raise for 7 Ergos!

Who are we?

The Rowing Parents Association of RBC Boat Club are a group of parents of crews in years 9-13 at RBC who volunteer their time and energy to promote the sport, cheer our competitors at regattas and Head races and fundraise for rowing equipment, boat repairs and maintenance so as many children that want to row can get involved, have a go, or get serious about the sport.

Why are we crowdfunding?

RBC Boat Club need more rowing machines.  We are delighted the sport is becoming more popular at the school and our young people are training hard on the water and off, but we need more equipment so that more of our crews can train at the same time off the water. The weather is not always with us. We are delighted we have girls rowing in year 12-13 and, as girls move through middle school, we are expecting girls from Year 9 in our junior programme from September 2025. To accommodate the girls and have more flexibility over training times for both sexes we need extra Ergo machines.  This could make a significant difference to our training programme. We really hope you’ll consider donating.

How are we fund raising?

The RPA will have exclusive use of a riverside pavilion at Henley Regatta on Sunday 6th July. We are inviting members of the RBC Boat Club RPA and their families to come along in exchange for a donation to the RPA.  All details have been shared by email.

How we’ll spend the money raised

The money raised will be spent on Concept 2 Ergo Machines (indoor rowing machines). These would likely be reconditioned Model D/E machines along with PM5 monitors.  If we are lucky enough to exceed our target, we would be delighted to spend any extra on much needed skinny oars. Right at upper end of the wish list is a new boat for the 1st VIII so don’t hold back!

Funding method

Keep what you raise – this project will receive all pledges made by 4th September 2025 at 10:05am
