Hi my name is Lisa williams, my maiden name is brown. My late mum Betty brown started the preschool with her friend and colleague Sue Edney back in 1987. Myself and my brother Robert attended the preschool and had many happy memories here and sues children Kim and Gary also attended and we all became best friends. We started primary school which was situated next door and having a dentist onsite ,we used to go over have lunch in preschool and then go back to school. The children there always enjoy themselves and the staff have always been amazing. They are like family to us as we've seen some come and go and we've always stayed in touch. Now the reason I am doing this is because my mum sadly passed in her sleep in 2005 aged 57 without illness, she took my eldest to splash where the lifeguards were not on duty on the slides and she went down with my daughter and someone came behind her and kicked her in the back. Now being a woman of age she already went through menopause and she started bleeding. She made a doctors app and was referred to hopsital for review in 2 weeks after accident and she passed in those two weeks. We believe it was toxic shock syndrome. this was a massive shock to the staff, children, her family and community as she was loved by all. I then took over as chairperson so I could make her proud. Now being chairperson you understand just how hard it is behind the scenes. Fundraising is a must as they are charity based so alot of fundraising to buy new equipment and toys and redecorate etc. I am no longer the chairperson and stepped down , but continued to go in and help if needed. My family took over so feel I couldn't do the fundraising and work needed. The setting is still very dear to me and I feel I owe them back for the care they've shown not only my children but everyone's else's as these young years set the way for children's futures and the staff here do an amazing job at that. They are caring rewarding and excellent in what they do and that shows our children fun happiness and education they all deserve. A safe place, a loving place and an educated place.
Now here's the exciting bit. I have 7 ranging 22 to 4 years old children and every single one has gone through this preschool, they've helped so much with my family and I love them for it. Also Kim and Gary's children have been here too. Proper family oriented. So myself and Tia Williams my eldest daughter and my second daughter Chloe Williams have decided to do a sponsored 15000ft sky dive to raise money for the most important charity in my life. Now we've never done anything like this before and we have paid for the dive and anything raised will be given to the preschool with love. We will be filming the sky dive which will be amazing and also a memory. I have asked them what they would do with the donations and they plan on revamping the setting. Having a mural wall of a woodland and animals so outside in as I call it. They will use a local artist mural mayhem to design and paint this mural. We are all very excited. Now the date of the dive is April 6th at 10am. Honiton. I'm hoping for clean sky's and nice warm weather to view the scenery. Whilst being scared out our wits haha. But it's all worth it for rainbow preschool so I am asking please please please donate anything you can as we need as many donations as possible to keep the preschool alive and up and running and also new things. We really do appreciate this from all of you. If you can send share and like this is fab. Every penny counts.
