On the 15th May 2022 we'd raised £280 with 2 supporters in 56 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Race The Machine is a race series with an engaging twist, entrants are given personal, achievable, running time targets across a series of distances.
There are 6 distances to complete in the Race The Machine 2022 challenge: 1500 Metres, 3 Kilometres, 5 Miles, 10 Kilometres, 10 Miles, Half Marathon.
A shorter 4 race challenge is also offered.
On entry Race The Machine entrants are asked how long it would take them to run 5 kilometres now. The Machine then calculates an achievable time to beat at the distance the entrant has chosen to run first.
From their second race onwards time targets are calculated from previous results. The Machine adjusts with our runners performance and is a great training partner.
All entrants receive a red recycled buff on entry. Those who complete all 6 races also receive a rarer black 'Machine Accomplished' recycled buff.
Race The Machine works equally well for beginners as it does very experienced runners. Everyone is welcome and can Race The Machine and succeed.
Every runner and beginner benefits from realistic targets. Beating time targets and expectations provides an unrivalled sense of satisfaction.
We are accepting 2022 entries from the UK and EU now.
Race The Machine is enhancing the typical virtual race experience by making it more personal, challenging, and flexible to runners ability levels.
Race The Machine is also making sustainable choices, by providing recycled buffs as mementos rather than medals.
A long term aim is to donate a portion of entry fees to support environmental, sustainable travel, and homelessness charities and good causes. This will hopefully be viable in the Race The Machine 2023 challenge.
Race The Machine had a successful trial in 2021 and already has 50 entrants signed up in 2022. Despite that success, spreading the word about a new concept remains tricky in a crowded market with no marketing budget. Your donation will help Race The Machine shout a little bit louder.
It is also important that Race The Machine invests in larger orders of recycled buffs and t-shirts to avoid delays in deliveries to our customers, and to secure more sustainable prices.
A long term aim is to donate a portion of entry fees to support environmental, sustainable travel, and homelessness charities and good causes. This will hopefully be viable in the Race The Machine 2023 challenge but first we need to scale up - and that requires marketing.
