Queer Homes: LGBTQ+ House & Flat Sharing Platform

Our team at Queer Homes have experienced the very issue we are trying to solve, numerous times. 

When finding an LGBTQ+ house/ flat share or house/ flat mate, we want to control as many factors as we can which allow us to reduce the chances of facing: 

• Homophobia;
• Gender based discrimination;
• Sexual orientation discrimination; and
• Mere passive aggressive behaviour related to the above.

It seems that with the fight for equality being an ongoing battle, the safety of our community isn't as set in stone as it should be. But this does not mean they should be denied the right to live in peace in a dwelling that they can call home.

Statistics show that a high number of those within the LGBTQ+ community have:

• Experienced sexual orientation and/or gender based discrimination in general; and
• Experienced sexual orientation and/or gender based discrimination in a house/ flat share.

It comes with no surprise that an exceptionally high figure of those within the LGBTQ+ community would prefer to live in an LGBTQ+ house/ flat share if they had the option to. 

At Queer Homes, we hope to tackle problems within the LGBTQ+ community that are often overlooked by other house/ flat sharing companies simply by connecting those within the community together.

We are looking to raise funds that will allow us to create the platform that we believe our community deserves. We have the idea, we have what it takes - now we just need to build the platform.
