Queen Elizabeth Foundation for Disabled People (QEF) and British Airways are thrilled to announce a three-year strategic partnership committed to breaking down barriers and creating new opportunities for disabled adults and children in the UK.
Opening a world of possibilities
QEF is passionate about enabling disabled individuals to be as independent as possible. We provide a unique mix of expert services designed to support people to achieve their potential, whether that's regaining core skills lost through a stroke or acquired brain injury, increasing independent mobility or support to live enriched and fulfilled lives.
Our services work together to meet individual requirements and needs and support disabled people in the following ways:
- Accessible travel and social inclusion through our HUBS mobility advice service
- Enhanced mobility and independence through QEF Mobility Services
- Accessible air travel through QEF Tryb4uFly, available in Carshalton and Birmingham
- Neuro rehabilitation and complex care through QEF's Care and Rehabilitation Centre\
- Bespoke assistive equipment for daily living through MERU
- Unique Bugzi power wheelchairs for young disabled children through MERU, with assessment centres across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
- Community and social integration through The Grange, Kent

Making a difference together:
Care and Rehabilitaion Centre (CRC)
The CRC provides neuro rehabilitation for people with acquired brain injuries, stroke, or spinal injuries as well as complex care for people with neurological illnesses.
Your support could fund neurological music therapy, creative activity programmes or assistive technology that enhances a clients rehabilitation journey
Mobility Services
Helping disabled adults gain independence and confidence in transportation. Supporting individuals to become independently mobile whether as a driver, passenger or user of public transport.
Your support could fund an assessment, driving lessons on QEF’s private track or accessible transport advice enhancing freedom, social inclusion and well-being.
Tryb4ufly
QEF's Tryb4uFly service aims to empower disabled people to make informed choices and be more confident about flying and navigating air travel.
We can give individuals the experience of being in an aircraft cabin and discuss all the support options available to them, as well as help each person plan the details of their trip to best suit their needs.
Your support could fund an assessment, consultation and report with personal recommendations to ensure an individual is confident and comfortable when travelling by air.
Medical Engineering Resource Unit (MERU)
MERU provides bespoke assistive equipment and mobility solutions specifically designed for disabled children.
Your support could fund a BUGZI wheelchair for a child under 6, an adapted toy or a child’s mobility assessments to enhance freedom, confidence and social inclusion.
The Grange
The Grange provides a residential and supported living facility for 25 adults with learning difficulties.
Your support could fund tailored activities, outings or educational programmes for our residents enhancing their freedom, mental health and wellbeing
