This page is now closing, following the success of the mammoth national 3D printing effort.

Workers from Yeti Tool, a machine tool manufacturer in Clevedon, are trying to help save lives on the frontline of the Covid-19 crisis. We've been making face shields - also known as safety visors. The materials we're using have kindly been funded by the League of Friends of Clevedon Hospital and Clevedon Aid. It was a gift of £500 from a fantastic, anonymous donor that inspired us to set up this crowdfunder page, to raise the other £243.94 needed to buy a new Prusa i3 MK3S kit and have it express delivered. Thanks to your brilliant generosity we hit that target within the first few hours and the total continued to climb as we headed towards a second new machine.

However, the successful national effort which we've been proud to to be part of - to 3D print and distribute thousands of safety visors - is now drawing to a close (in favour of injection moulding). So we are closing this page. Everyone who has already donated will be offered either a refund or the chance for their money to go to a local Covid-related cause.

We ask project owners to honour their rewards wherever possible but please note that all pledges are donations and there is no guarantee that you will receive any rewards from the project owner. Please see Crowdfunder's Terms of Use for more information regarding rewards for pledges.
