Aim: Please send us to the 2025 International Peatland Conference - to share our skills in the global fight for peatlands like Walshaw Moor

We are Anna Chilvers and Clare Shaw - writers, teachers and co-editors of "The Book of Bogs: Stories of a Yorkshire Moor and other Peatlands".

Together with bryologist and writer Johnny Turner, we are seeking to part-fund our attendance at the International Peatland  Conference which will take place in Northern Ireland this October.

We want to spread the message that art and literature can be vital tools in the struggle to save our planet - drawing on the example of the "Book of Bogs", which will be published in September and which features peat-themed work from over 40 of the UK (and beyond!)'s best writers.

We submitted a proposal to deliver a day-long workshop in which we would teach scientists and ecologists from around the world how to use poetry, stories and other creative methods in their fight to save peat. The proposal was accepted! We've been awarded free places at the 3-day conference - and now we need to raise funds towards the cost of our travel and accommodation.

Your donations will help us to strengthen the world-wide effort to protect our precious moors, bogs and other peatlands.
