We're still collecting donations

On the 1st February 2022 we'd raised £460 with 6 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

The Project Dance Company plans to produce a full length narrative dance theatre production to be performed at the Sturminster Newton Exchange on Saturday 27th August. With a professional creative team, Project Dance will search for a cohort of exceptionally talented young dancers in training to be the cast for this production. Project Dance has made plans to provide accommodation and catering for the dancers and production team.

The objective of the production is to provide young dancers with the opportunity to originate a role in a new work, whilst gaining hands on industry experience of the process of the creation of a new work. Within the rehearsal period dancers will have talks with professionals about nutrition, mental health and safe dance practice and will then have the opportunity to perform in a full scale production.

Project Dance believes that financial situation should never restrict someone from being able to engage with our work and so we are working to make the cost for these young people as minimal as possible.

The content of the work will include themes such as the refugee crisis, youth crime, inequality and togetherness and aims to appeal to a broad audience, with the ambition of promoting kindness, inclusion and introspection.

This is where we need you.

To create an original large scale production is a huge financial challenge. We are dead set on making this experience a once in a lifetime opportunity for these young dancers and we are striving to create dance work which is profound and contributes powerfully to society in an enriching and empathetic way.
By supporting Project Dance you would be contributing to:

  • Allowing talented dancers who are not in the financial position to pay to be with us to have their fees waived.

  • Covering the costs for accommodating and catering for the production staff and dancers

  • The cost of building and hiring set and costumes for the production

  • Attaining the appropriate insurances to allow the entire project to take place

By supporting Project Dance, you are supporting:

  • Passionate young creatives striving to tell poignant and socially motivated stories through dance which aim to connect members of society

  • Providing a foot up to young dancers desperate to follow their dreams of becoming professional performers.
