Project 2020 is an estate based service supporting young people in Haringey. Operating out of Northumberland Park, Tottenham since 2011. The project was created after the riots and disturbances back in 2011, with the aim of providing a safe space for young people living in the area.
Project 2020 opens Monday-Friday from 4pm-6pm and during school holidays providing both structured and open sessions for young people aged 10-19 years old. The projects main aims are to support young people's health and well-being, improve confidence and self-esteem, raising/improving attainment levels, life skills and reducing anti-social behaviour in the community. While providing valuable experiences and opportunities to support young people's development and transition into adulthood.
Engaging young people often results in the project supporting not just them but their families as well. In the current economic climate this has become more important, especially as the project is based in one of the most deprived areas in London. Our list of activates include;
- Youth club activities
- Create 20X20 - Music & Media
- Calisthenics and fitness
- Cooking club
- Life skills/Homework club
- Arts and crafts
On Monday 7th April, the Project 2020 team will be completing a 25km walk, zig-zagging over 16 historical river Thames bridges. All money raised will go to continuing the vital work being done at Project 2020 in furthering the opportunities and experiences of the young people we support. On behalf of the staff and young people at Project 2020 we thank you for any donations give.
