The Prize
We are offering you the chance to join a cyanotype workshop at our sustainable flower farm, set in a beautiful walled garden, where you will learn this wonderful technique to create unique pieces of artwork. The workshop is being run by the lovely Rachel Sargent on the 12th July, 11am-3pm https://www.rachelsargent.co.uk/
You’ll also get to pick your own bucket of fresh, seasonal flowers straight from the farm!
A Cyanotype is a photographic printing method that produces images with a distinctive Prussian-blue colour. Prints are made by applying a light sensitive solution to paper and then placing objects on top to mask the UV light from the prepared paper. When the paper is exposed to UV light the areas will turn blue.
The day will start by gathering grasses and wild flowers suitable for making cyanotypes. You will learn all about the process and create a set of unique prints that you can take home at the end of the day. You will also be shown other techniques like layering and masking to create different effects.
Before you leave you will be given a bucket and some snips to head into the farm to pick your own fresh flowers to take home.

The Cause
This prize draw is part of our fundraising campaign to rebuild our workshop space after it was damaged by a storm. The new, eco-friendly space will replace our old gazebo, providing a sheltered area for workshops and events. We’re also raising funds to install a composting toilet, which is essential for both the workshops and the pick-your-own flower experience, helping us offer a more sustainable and comfortable environment for visitors.
