Aim: COVID-19 has temporarily closed our practice. We plan to survive and with your help we can and will succeed.
Why are we crowdfunding
The global COVID-19 pandemic has created unprecedented circumstances for all of us. Following the advice of NHS England and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, we have as many of you know, had to close the practice during the crisis to protect our patients, staff and contractors. This has effectively meant a complete stop to all of our services and a sudden drop of revenue to zero.
You know and trust us and understand that we have been a well run, solid and professional business for decades. But, however good we have been COVID-19 is stretching us and in common with many businesses we are having to come up with new ways to generate income to ensure our clinic is here for you when you need us after the lockdown is lifted.
- So this is what we propose ' a plan that offers you our loyal patients a discount on future fees and services and allows you to help us by providing much needed income to ease cash flow '
What we are offering
A commercial form of 'pay it forward' crowdfunding. This is not the crowdfunding you may have heard of, it is not a charity scheme and we are not asking for donations.
Rather we are offering a rewards based voucher system that gives you a discount on future treatment. Once purchased your vouchers entitle you to a generous discount and can be redeemed against all of our services when we are able to re-open after this dreadful period.
- I want to participate but I'm insured ' No problem the vouchers can be used for services and goods not covered by insurance such as massage, personal training, dietetics and the products that we sell '
Your vouchers are valid for physiotherapy treatments, acupuncture and sports injury services plus, as noted above, all of our ancillary services. You can also use them to purchase goods in the clinic such as braces, supports, exercise equipment etc. Moreover, all patients who participate will be entitled to free on-line, telephone and virtual support and advice during the lockdown period and we have had great feedback from those of you who are already using this service.
Why are we doing this
We have been unable to treat patients during lockdown and with no income coming in and fixed costs going out we cannot survive indefinitely. We need to be pro-active to ensure that when the time comes we are available to provide all of the services our customers expect. We do however fully appreciate that many of you may be in the same difficult financial situation and will be unable to participate and we will do our very best to support you in the future. Initial take up of the offer has been excellent which has encouraged us to expand via the crowdfunding platform.
COVID-19
We have experience of COVID-19 with family working on the front line in the NHS and fully appreciate the services that will be required in the future. Many sufferers who have been hospitalised particularly after ventilation lose their fitness, strength, cardio-vascular capacity and mobility. Rehabilitation for people who have suffered from COVID-19 has been identified as a huge future need with physiotherapy the main contributor. We are fully able to provide these rehabilitation services on a private basis and are gearing up for this. If you have family or friends that require such rehabilitation at home your vouchers will give you priority and can also be used for this purpose.
We have worked hard to provide a first class physiotherapy service to the community and been a teaching practice for over thirty years and are determined to continue in our work. To keep our staff and contractors employed, to provide them with some certainty and reassurance and to keep our clinic viable for the next thirty years to treat you and your family we need your support.
Although vouchers are not refundable they are valid for a two year period. To ensure you receive full value the scheme is flexible and vouchers are fully transferable, to your friends and family. We appreciate that many of you would simply prefer to see us when we re-open on our normal terms but if some of you are able to participate in our rewards scheme we would be delighted.
For our corporate clients or those of you who want to help the community we can provide vouchers that are specifically ringfenced to provide post covid-19 rehabilitation for example in the community, a nursing home, sheltered accommodation facility or a charitable institution that you support ( subject to their permission ).
