Field gun is a sport that traces its heritage back to the Royal Navy competition of yesteryear. We have provided training and competitions for junior crews of field gunners to encourage children of all abilities to get involved in sport and learn the value of fair competition. We are now ready to take the next step in the progression for the young athletes.
For a team to train they need a set of equipment including a youth gun and limber and the ramps and walls which make up the track. The young athletes and adult volunteers will be trained to compete in the 'toughest team sport in the world' . At the end of each term we will run a tournament in Portsmouth's Historic Dockyard where the teams or crews as we call them compete for a range of prizes.
Your donation will by used to spread the sport to schools, youth organisations and to form independent teams that could not otherwise afford the equipment and training. Once trained they will be fully fledged and able to take part in all our events and tournaments.
