New stretch target
Surplus funds will be reinvested into the company and used for community benefit, such as:
- Free access to education- workshops promoting sustainability and providing a platform for local businesses, groups and services to promote their solutions.
- Increasing biodiversity in local areas- greening local areas, vertical farming
- Encouraging active travel- provide subsidy to enable people to access the centre by public transport.
We aim to raise £300 by the end of October and need your support!
We need donations to help towards our start up fees! Help us to turn the tide of climate despair.
If we raise more than our target, surplus funds will be reinvested into the company and used for community benefit.
We are Turning Tides Portsmouth CIC (Community Interest Company)
Our aim is to create an environmental community space that we can all work together on, to find solutions to the climate and social crises, supporting local issues, building community networks, sustainability and resilience.
What is a community interest company?
A community interest company is a business with primarily social objectives whose surpluses are principally reinvested for that purpose in the business or the community, rather than being driven by the need to maximize profit for shareholders and owners.
What are our plans?
We aim to set up a physical climate emergency centre in Portsmouth, to reduce the impact of climate change and create a city fit for generations to come.
