POETRY LONDON LTD

RCN 1119433, London

The Charity's objects (the Objects) are to promote the study and writing of contemporary poetry for the public benefit.

Poetry London is an arts charity and leading international poetry magazine where acclaimed contemporary poets share pages with exciting new names.

We recently published our 100th issue last Autumn, celebrating 33 years of the magazine since its founding in 1988. We are an Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation.

All through the current economic crisis we have continued to publish and support emerging and established writers, through our magazine, our annual competition which has helped launch the careers of many acclaimed poets, including Liz Berry, Niall Campbell, Richard Scott, and Romalyn Ante, our live and live streamed events, our mentorship scheme, student work placements, and developing the experience and careers of editors of colour. We proudly pay artists a fair market rate for creative work, performances, mentorship, interviews and reviews.

Poetry London has worked hard to increase its subscriptions and apply for grant funding, but it's been an ongoing challenge, exacerbated by the pandemic and the economic climate, to secure the funds we need to support all of our work.
