Pontefract Masonic Hall, located at the corner of Ackworth Road and Carleton Road in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, is a historic building constructed around 1890/1. This hall serves as a meeting place for seven Masonic Lodges, including the well-known St. Oswald Lodge No. 910, De Lacy Lodge No. 4643, Tateshall Lodge No. 7645, Lodge Calder Vale No 136, and many more.

Inside, you’ll find the Temple, where Masonic meetings are held, offering a unique and fascinating experience for visitors. The hall embodies the core values of Freemasonry: Brotherly Love, Releif, and Truth, making it a significant landmark in the community.
In the heart of our bustling town, the Masonic Hall has stood as a beacon of togetherness and tradition for over a century. However, time has taken its toll on our beloved hall. The once-strong roof, which has sheltered us from countless storms, is now showing signs of wear and tear. Leaks have become a common occurrence, and the patches we’ve applied over the years are no longer enough to keep the elements at bay. During the last winter, a particularly heavy snowfall caused significant damage, leaving us with no choice but to face the reality: our hall needs a new roof.
The need for a new roof goes beyond just fixing leaks. It’s about preserving a space that has been the heart of our community for generations. Without a safe and secure roof, we risk losing a place where friendships are forged, memories are made, and the spirit of our community thrives.
