Hi I’m Stu Benfield the founder of PLNGE Ltd

I started PLNGE because of my own personal story, like many other men and people I’ve struggled with my mental health and have been to dark places and felt very alone and lost searching for my purpose I knew I had to break this cycle and I had to step out my comfort zone to do it.

I was scrolling through social media one day when I found a men’s group that had a men’s yoga session on so I decided there and then that I would sign up, I paid my money and I turned up I was greeted by so many like minded men looking for a space and a place to be able to feel safe, this group wasn’t just about doing yoga it was essentially a men’s group that met every Sunday morning at 8am to face the cold water of the sea, at first I really struggled with the cold but I enjoyed the company from the group and after the sea dip everyone would grab a coffee and chat about whatever they wanted this for me became my ritual..

Moving on from that a few of the guys from the group had noticed a new space opening up that was about contrasting therapy, which is ice baths and saunas, this became my favourite thing to do since starting this new journey I have met and become friends with so many like minded people not only men but women too.

The experience has been life changing and I believe so many more people can experience these same amazing feelings I get from doing this we have built a small community that supports, cares and loves for one another.

What We’re Aiming to Do with the Money

We’re aiming to raise £85,000 to fully fund the launch of PLNGE. This money will go directly into making the space safe, functional and welcoming. Here’s how it will be used:

- **£20,000** for ice baths, sauna equipment, plumbing and electrics

- **£25,000** for full premises setup, layout redesign and fit-out

- **£10,000** for building showers, reset room and changing facilities

- **£5,000** for café seating, furniture, fridges and health bar equipment

- **£2,000** for Crowdfunder platform fees, signage and admin costs

- **£15,000** for first 3 months of rent, utilities, staff and marketing and insurance’s

- **£8,000** contingency buffer to protect against delays or rising costs

**Total: £85,000**

This funding will take PLNGE from an idea to a fully operational recovery hub ready to open by Autumn 2025.
