Hello,
My name is Nell, my partner Ed and I are a young couple building a smallholding together in the Cotswolds.
We are passionate about self sustainability, low food miles, helping to revive rare breeds, and supporting our community through supplying fresh and local meat, milk, eggs and honey.
It is our goal to be able to live entirely off of our own produce and exchange it with other locals in food-swaps.
We have a few head of sheep, some Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs (a rare British breed) a couple of Jersey cows called Wilma and Jessie. Ed's family keeps bees and poultry, and has a large vegetable garden. All our animals live as holistically as possible: our cows have pasture access year round and the pigs are free range.

We are aiming towards being a certified microdairy, selling raw Jersey milk and eventually butter, cream and soft cheeses.

All funds raised will go towards purchasing a pedigree Jersey cow. We will be putting our girls in calf using original population Jersey embryos, thus helping to save these 200+ year old bloodlines from extinction! The British Breeds Revival Trust charity estimates there to be only 55 remaining original population Jerseys in existence!!
By helping our cause you will be saving these precious heritage cows from extinction by supplying the embryos with a surrogate, as well as aiding a local smallhold.
