• Please help get Bluebell luxating patella surgery. February 10th 2020 we took out a new policy for bluebell after hers came up for renewal, on 21st February 2020 she went to Thanet Vets for a check up and the vet said she had luxating patella and needed surgery. Being so young I took her for a second opinion on 28th February to Eagle Vets in Birchington, the vet said she did not need an operation as it was very mild. I rang the insurance company and explained what had happened and they put this on the notes, they said she would be covered further down the line if she needed this. The last 5 years we've paid for a lifetime insurance policy and each year it's gone up and up and up..... Fast forward 5 years later Bluebell showed signs of discomfort, a trip to the vet today was confirmed she does now need the operation for a good quality of life. I've contacted the insurance company to make the claim which they have rejected stating it was a preexisting condition prior to taking out the policy. I've explained the vets was on 21st so how could we have known, we feel letdown,upset, frustrated and desperate. To be told they wont cover has crippled us, the lifetime policy we've paid for the last 5 years has been a total waste. Please help put the spring back in her step.
