We're still collecting donations
On the 1st June 2024 we'd raised £81 with 4 supporters in 69 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
We are a progressive club that is inclusive & values diversity so all are welcome to come & play cricket with us.

On the 1st June 2024 we'd raised £81 with 4 supporters in 69 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Cricket has been played on our ground since 1907 & we have maintained club records since 1972 when the league began.
In 1977 we suffered a major fire, the clubhouse was rebuilt in 1982 at our current location, hence our club motto “Phoenix the club that rose from the ashes”.
Due to a variety of reasons we have struggled in the last couple of years especially due difficulties with fundraising, a lot due to the result of the COVID pandemic.
We aim to make the club a focal of our small town, after all we have the biggest outdoor playground in Wallasey situated smack bang in the middle of Central Park.
We are hoping to explore extending opportunities for local children to get interested with cricket and in previous years we have been involved with Dynamo’s, however this has been put on the back burner due to insufficient participants and volunteers. This hopefully will change over the next 12 months due to all our cricketers completing safeguarding and coach training.
Our primary focus is inclusion, and we are looking to develop a 5 year plan to include both junior and ladies cricket teams.
COVID disrupted fundraising, the case up and down the country which has meant maintenance & improvement has not taken place & hopefully this page will help the club to be bought back to its full potential.
We have a team of wonderful volunteers, but funds are limited to be able to achieve our dream.
Install artificial pitch
An artificial pitch will enable the club to offer more training, of a higher standard, which will result in participation to a wider audience, it will enhance our attempts to build both a ladies team and our junior members.
Junior and Ladies Cricket – We are planning to extend opportunities for local children to play cricket. In the recent past we have run ECB’s All Stars and Dynamos however in the last couple of years the involvement in junior cricket has been much reduced. There are several reasons for this – the wet ground conditions meaning the start of junior cricket has been delayed on health and safety grounds for several weeks, loss of participants due to late start and coaches leaving to join other clubs. This trend will hopefully change this year with several cricketers attending coach training courses over the winter to obtain the necessary qualifications. The wet ground conditions will still be a problem but we will hopefully be able to focus early junior cricket sessions on the higher area of the cricket field near to the main pavilion.
Update drainage on bottom field
The cricket field has suffered from drainage problems for many years. This is particularly bad over the lower half of the cricket field – the clay based ground slopes downhill from the Liscard end towards the Central Park Lake. The problem has got worse in recent years due to factors including – lack of maintenance of the park drainage system and wetter autumn, winter and spring periods. Until a few years ago this water flow totally flooded the park footpath below the cricket field. This problem was resolved when the Parks Department installed a direct pipe connection from the flooded area towards the lower level of the Central Park Lake. The Club has developed plans for installing new drainage to the lower half of the cricket field and to feed the water into a SUDS storage system in the lowest corner of the cricket field. Stored water could then be used to water the cricket square during dry periods of weather.
We also have a brilliant social side to our club, both cricketers and their families plus our 2 football teams ensure the clubhouse is a safe environment for all. Our social members work extremely hard to put on events throughout the year, but we still need your help.
Our lower pavilion is mostly just used as a spill over facility, we would love to be able to convert the building onto an indoor net training area with a separate ladies shower room so that we can accommodate potential ladies matches on the facility and ensure net practise is available to everyone.
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
