Help Us Build a New Playground for Mount Stewart’s Learners

Who We Are

We are the Friends of Mount Stewart (FOMS) PTA, a committed group of parents, carers, and staff supporting the children of the Mount Stewart Schools Federation in Brent, London. Our schools serve over 650 children aged 2–11, from a diverse and vibrant community, including high numbers of children with SEND and English as an Additional Language (EAL).

Mount Stewart isn’t just a school. It’s a hub of activity, learning, and support for families across the community, hosting after-school clubs, tutoring programmes, faith groups, parenting workshops, and much more.

What We're Trying to Do

Right now, our Infant climbing frame is decommissioned, unsafe and unusable. This means our children are missing out on a vital part of their school day: the chance to climb, balance, explore and play.1744630716_p3.jpg

For many of our children, particularly those with special educational needs, play is not just fun. It’s therapy, it’s development, and it’s connection. We want to give them back a space that challenges, supports and excites them.

Our Vision

We want to install a new, inclusive climbing frame that encourages:

  • Active, physical development
  • Sensory exploration
  • Confidence and independence
  • Social interaction and teamwork

This new structure will be used daily, not only during school hours but by after-school and weekend clubs, holiday programmes, and local groups who rely on our space.

How We’ll Use the Funds

The money raised will go towards:

  • Removing the current unsafe structure
  • Installing a brand new climbing frame with safe surfacing
  • Creating an engaging, accessible outdoor environment for all children

Why It Matters

This project will benefit hundreds of children and families each week. Better play spaces support better learning, happier, healthier pupils, and stronger, more improved facilities.
