I'm wanting to take my business to the next level by producing 1940s and 50s style clothing as well as custom made decorative bunting etc.

On the 19th May 2023 we'd raised £40 with 2 supporters in 69 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
How it started:
I absolutely love 1940s & 50s fashion and really wanted a Wonder Woman hair tie but never could find a design I like and wanted to make my own. My partner bought me a sewing machine for my 40th birthday. This was my first sewing machine, even though I've been sewing since I was 8 years old! I took to it like a duck to water, but there was also an added bonus.
A few years ago, I partially lost my hearing and developed tinnitus, which is constant and extremely annoying. I found that the noise of the sewing machine helps me to forget about my tinnitus, it's very therapeutic. I spend as much time on it as I'm able, which has lead to me creating a lot of hair ties, bunting and other items, so Pinup Perita was born.
How it's going:
Really well! I'm currently moving my main store over from Etsy to my own website so that I can offer a wider range of products. I also trade at a large number of craft fayres throughout the year, both for local events and national event organisers. This has been a great way of getting out and meeting my customers. I've also been contacted by a number of event organisers asking me to trade at their events following seeing me out and about.
One thing I've noticed whilst chatting to customers at these fayres, are particular gaps in the market for my existing customer base and potential new custom. It is to this end that I have started this Crowdfunder.
How you can help:
After putting all of my savings into starting up (buying fabrics, stall fees, promotional items, etc.), I'm finally at a point where I'm starting to see small bits of money coming in. However, I want to move forward growing my business by making custom pieces for birthdays, weddings, decor etc., as well as 1940s and 50 styled clothing. For this I need a couple of expensive pieces of machinery. Namely an overlocker and embroidery machine. Any additional funds will be used to help stock up my fabric stash to offer the widest range of choice for custom pieces.
