The only app using validated Cautionary and Advisory Labels as per the UK British National Formulary.
Hi,
My name is Ali, I am a clinical hospital pharmacist and I'm on a mission to change the way people take their medication. It is thought that between a third and a half of all medicines prescribed for long‑term conditions are not taken as recommended and I see this all the time in my practice.
Unfortunately knowing to take your pill once a day isn't enough. Should it be taken with food or without? Can you have a drink whilst taking it? Can you crush this medication?
Not taking your medication properly means you don't get its full benefits and can sometimes even cause more harm then good.
So lets change this and empower patients to take control of their medication.
There are many medication reminders out there but none go the step further to actually tell you the critical information on how to take your medication.
The UK British National Formulary lays out a set of Cautionary and Advisory Labels that must be included on the label for specific medicines. Think of these as the most essential counselling information. In partnership with the Pharmaceutical Press I am hoping to launch an medication reminder app that has these medication counselling points built in so users can take their medication not just on time but also in the right way. Check out these examples!
Please note funding will be used to help create the project plan and wireframe of the app. Once completed we can go ahead with crowdfunding for app development and offer more rewards.
