We are walking from Hastings Pier to Eastbourne Pier on Sunday 17th March 2024 along with others from Hailsham Hockey Club. This walk follows the 15 miles (24km) of coastline between Hastings and Eastbourne.
Why are we raising funds?
Hailsham Hockey Club is looking to initially raise £25,000 to contribute towards the resurfacing of its home pitch at Hailsham Community College. This along with funds raised by the school and other organisations will enable the existing pitch to be resurfaced.
This will secure the future of hockey in Hailsham and also provide a much valued facility for the school and wider community that use it.
The hockey club has made the school its home since the original pitch was laid over 20 years ago. The surface is well beyond its intended life and is close to not being playable.
I have played for Hailsham Hockey Club for over 20 years and have loved every minute of it. My kids Charlie, Sophie and Freddie have played hockey since they could hold a stick. It’s a family club that has enabled us to make lifelong friends while playing a competitive sport. We are coaching the next generation of children coming through and want this to continue for many more years to come. Please help us to raise some money however small or big to resurface our pitch.
