Jungle Ultra; 5 day, self-supported race in Peru.

The Jungle Ultra, 4th - 8th June 2023.  Five days of running through the Amazon rainforest in Manu National Park, Peru  (with invaluable advice and knowledge from indigenous communities and support from fellow competitors) carrying my sleeping bag, food, hammock etc for 200+ kilometres. Humidity, river crossings, unforgiving terrain, exotic wildlife and nights spent in my hammock stand between me and completing the adventure. It has been a long awaited dream of mine to try to complete this event and this is the year! 

Key Changes Music Therapy (Winchester based charity) provides emotional and psychological therapy for adults and children with a range of needs. The therapists work directly with referred clients towards the alleviation of the emotional effects of mental illness, learning disability, social deprivation and developmental delay. To have the opportunity to use my adventure to highlight and promote the work of the charity whilst raising funds for further music therapy projects to benefit even more people was something I just could not ignore.
