Aim: In the 41st year of the Penn 7, on the 7th June, we are raising funds for the refurbishment of the Rainbow Room at Tylers Green First School

Let's Lace Up To Give Back!

Who are we?

We are a dedicated group of volunteers from the community of Penn & Tylers Green, passionate about keeping the community spirit of our village alive through our annual Fun Run event. Our team comprises local residents, each bringing unique skills and a shared commitment to creating memorable experiences that bind our community. Our vision is to not only continue this beloved tradition but to elevate it into a grand festival that pays homage to our history and supports a cause close to our hearts, the refurbishment of the Rainbow Room at Tylers Green First School.

Why are we crowdfunding?

This year, we aim to raise £7,500 to cover the essential costs of organising the event and to make a significant donation to Tylers Green First School.  These funds will ensure that the event remains free for all attendees whilst increasing the quality of the entire day.

Tylers Green First School is a state funded school at the heart of the village, providing high quality education to children agreed 4 to 7 years.

• It takes children from the local catchment area, predominantly Tylers Green, Penn, Hazlemere and Micklefield

• They are seeing an increasing number of children needing support for additional needs against a backdrop of a national shortage of funds and specialist schoolplaces

• Tylers Green First School has re purposed an old computer room to create’ The Rainbow Room’, a space for children with additional speech, language and communication needs

  • The room provides support to a wide range of children from 8.10 am (early birds breakfast club) through to the end of the school day

• The kind of activities run include phonics support sessions, speech and language provision, small group communication and emotional support, a quiet space for ‘down time’, and occupational therapy sessions

• Many of these children would struggle to remain in a mainstream school if it were not for the Rainbow Room

• The room is desperate for renovation as it still has many ‘computer room features’ and we would like to create a space more fit for purpose to enable these children to have the best experience possible

How we’ll spend the money raised

  • Built in Storage for equipment and toys
  • Relocation of key electrical units and removal of the old projector and cabling
  • Tables and chairs for the children
  • Rugs and bean bags to create a sensory area to relax and re charge in
  • Speech and Language and Occupational Therapy Resources to support the children’s needs
  • Additional Resources for an accessible toilet.

By contributing to our crowdfunding page, you are investing in more than just a day of entertainment. You are supporting a legacy of community spirit and raising funds for our local school. Every donation brings us closer to a successful event and a substantial donation to a worthy cause. Join us in making 41 years of the Fun Run a landmark event that honours the past and paves the way for future celebrations.  Thank you for your support!
