Paying my debt
Not quite
Unfortunately this project was not successful.

My aim is to pay my debt and take this heavy stone out of my shoulders. To make my current life a bit easier.

I am asking for any financial support to pay my debt.

I had a very nice life I think. I used to travel, dance, meeting new people, learning languages until depression started. I haven’t realised, when it started. It all was happening gradually, like I was slowly sinking until I basically lost everything.

I worked in shoe shop for 6 years, unfortunately in the last 4-5 years I started to struggle with depression, later anxiety also occured.

I had my hours cut, because of the pandemic and was made redundant in July 2022. My condition did worsen and I couldn’t work or even looking for work.. I’ve been taking medication and going through therapy for more than 3 years. I was receiving Universal credit help.

In November last year, I decided to travel to my home country for second opinion, because my condition haven’t improved in 2 years and I was told by my GP, they can’t do anything else appart of habing an extra therapy. I travelled to Latvia and  I was also diagnosed with inactive thyroid and obesity. I had my depression medication changed.

I decided to stay longer to receive treatment, because I couldn’t afford travelling often and informed Uni credit. They were taking a long decision, looking at if they could give me 6 month abroad for treatment. They decided they won’t and closed my case. In two month I receiced a letter saying that owe them 2 month benefit pay. I was in shock. I tried to dispute it, saying why they took such a long time to take decision and still were paying. I received a rude reply. I complained and disputed it again. I received official letter with refusal.

Now my case is passed to debt department. I spoke to them and they can’t help. The latest I can start paying is September.

I still am not able to work and am receiving treatment. I live at my parents apartment, who are providing me with essentials on their tiny pension. I am not receiving any financial help, I have no income, no savings. I will return to UK as soon as I can. Now I am still having treatment here and with anxiety it’s hard to take all UK social services pressure.

I would like to ask you to help me to pay my debt of £1784.48.

I can send you any supporting documents I have.

Best regards,

Jelena.
