Colèchi #PayCreativeSpeakers

raised so far

It wouldn’t be fair to talk about sustainable fashion without looking into financial sustainability. Help us pay our speakers.

We're still collecting donations

On the 30th October 2020 we'd raised £60 with 2 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

Independent creatives have been hit hard during COVID-19. We’re raising £2000 to pay our speakers during our Clean Fashion Event taking place digitally in September.

Who are we?

We’re Colèchi, a co-learning platform for independent creatives in fashion, art and design. We create events and spaces for independent creatives to learn how to exist in the fashion industry and discuss social issues. Colèchiwas founded by 2 sisters from South East London, without any formal background in fashion, and coming from a low-income family, the fashion industry became far to reach, Colèchi was created to learn about the industry and share information with others.

What's Clean Fashion

In Septemeber, we’re putting on our annual event called Clean Fashion. Looking at the full fashion production line. It wouldn’t be fair to discuss sustainability without discussing financial sustainability. Due to COVID 19, our events have moved online, and will be free to access, however we want to support our talented speakers by offering a fee.

#PayCreativeSpeakers, allows us, as an events platform to contribute towards our speakers who make the event. It’s also a plea to creative industries, particularly in fashion, to see other means of income for freelancers, designers and other creatives in fashion who rely on multiple sources of income.

All funds raised will be evenly distributed to pay for our speakers. You’ll also be the first to have access to the four-day digital event, as well as joining our slack group of independent creatives who solve social issues.

Why is this important?

Design and designer fashion within creative industries could lose £2 billion in revenue and loosing 51,000 jobs - Creative Industry Federation

If we care about fashion and design, we need to provide alternative sources of income for the minds that work so hard making and producing.

The greatest employment drop was seen amongst the self-employed, this is because contract workers, freelancers, and the self-employed appear to have seen an immediate impact in March. Many of our members rely on such work to survive.
