Friends, neighbours, fellow residents of Newark West,
On the 1st May you placed your trust in a new Reform UK County Councillor. Now, that trust has been broken. A resignation, a sudden departure, leaving our community without representation, without a voice at County Hall. This isn't just a political hiccup; it's a disservice to every single person who cast their vote, who believed in the promise of change.
That's why I'm standing before you today, as the Labour Party candidate, ready to step up and deliver where others have failed. I'm not a newcomer to local government. I'm already your District Councillor, working tirelessly within our community. I know the issues that matter to you: the need for better local services, the fight for better roads and pavements, the protection of those needing Social care, and the demand for a strong, reliable voice that champions Newark West.
I've been in your streets, listening to your concerns, understanding your challenges. I've worked to make our streets safer for you, supported community initiatives, and fought for fair and equitable services. I'm not here for a fleeting moment; I'm here for the long haul.
But I can't do this alone. This by-election, forced upon us by another's abrupt departure, requires resources. We need to reach every voter, to ensure that everyone knows they have a choice, a chance to restore integrity and effective representation to our community.
