Who are we?

The Panama swimming club is a local community sea swimming club based in our distinctive clubhouse that is a historic feature of the beautifully regenerated promenade in Whitely Bay 

Why are we crowdfunding?

Our beautiful club house has been a historic part of the Whitely Bay promenade; however, time and the sea air has taken its toll on the building. We have several schedules of work to complete, first we need  to stabilise the fabric of the building so that it does not deteriorate further. Then we need to bring the downstairs of the club into full operation with flooring and decoration. We need your help to fund this much needed work. 

How we’ll spend the money raised

We have a list of works to complete in the second phase of our renovation: Wall ties, Gunpoint repointing work and brick replacement, decoration and new flooring to the ground floor.  

Community impact

We allow a safe, dry and sociable changing area for sea swimmers to access the gorgeous whitely bay beach for sea swimming all year round. Your support will allow the iconic club house to be an attractive and well-maintained part of the whitely bay community for decades to come. 

How you can play your part

Donate a minimum of £5 per person who wishes to attend the Panama swimming club summer solstice swim that starts at 6pm on the 21st of July 2024. This will allow and application to Sports England who may match your donation to double the money raised. Of course a more generous donations would be most welcome.
