Meena Beckford (Independent Social Work Project Manager) and Melissa Wrigley from Bloom Beauty Room in Birmingham are working on this project together to raise as much money as we can.
On the 3rd April 2020, we approached the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Selly Oak to provide pampering treatments for their frontline staff, who have been directly involved in looking after patients with COVID-19. We are talking about the staff that are working tirelessly to get us through these very difficult times. They are working all hours and some are unable to see their own families in order to protect them. Some are pregnant and are not only putting themselves at risk but also their unborn children. These are truly amazing people.
We are hoping that at the end of the Coronavirus crisis 100 of these frontline NHS workers can have a free, well deserved, full body massage. We will also be organising goody bags which will include items such as bath bombs, toiletries and chocolate and these will go to as many staff as possible. We are fully aware that this can only happen when things are somewhat “normal” again and the social distancing rules are over. This will happen, but we just don’t know when exactly that will be. We believe by then, the frontline NHS staff will truly deserve some pampering and it is our way of saying THANK YOU to them.
Please support us if you can. We are hoping to raise enough money to treat at least 100 frontline staff with free massages and every penny raised will be used for this purpose. Meena will also match the first £1000 that is raised, helping your money to go even further.
Many Thanks
Meena & Melissa xx
