Pagliacci

Aim: "Pagliacci" is an exhibition of new artworks by Calum Beaton- a brightly coloured journey through the strange, uncanny and mysterious.

Following on from previous exhibitions "Telling Tales" (2021) and "The Secret Commonwealth" (2022), "Pagliacci" is a brand new show featuring paintings by actor, director and visual artist Calum Beaton. 

The exhibition will take place at Nicolls Gallery, 656 Dumbarton Road, Glasgow (@nicolls_Glasgow) from the 22nd to the 26th of October.

The pieces have been inspired by a grab-bag of different influences from contemporary and traditional folklore to urban alienation to create a tension between ancient and modern, and between what we believe and how we experience the world.

This crowdfunder is to raise funds to support the cost of the exhibition, including gallery and publicity costs, but also to cover high resolution scanning of the works and the creation of prints to allow access to art to be more affordable and accessible.  

For those supporting the Crowdfunder, there will be a private view of the exhibition and drinks reception on the 21st of October 2025 from 6:30, before the show opens to the public on the 22nd. Supporters will also receive a specially created and exclusive limited edition print, and a 10% discount on any artworks purchased.
