On the 15th May 2022 we'd raised £21,039 with 126 supporters in 56 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
The original funding will pay for the installation of the lights. The extra funding will pay for a 5 year pitch improvement programme of aeration, sanding, and surface preparation of the main pitch to provide a first-class playing surface to attract first-class fixtures.

Why A Second Floodlit Pitch?
Oxford Rugby Club founded in 1909 has a proud history and tradition in providing differing rugby opportunities for all ages and abilities. In recent times the club has been a victim of its own success and its floodlit facilities are not sufficient for the current demand.
The main grass pitch is fully floodlit but used every night of the week by the senior teams, mixed touch and tag teams, student teams, and junior players. On Saturday and Sunday, the club plays matches against local opposition.
By January and even earlier at times the grass is worn away and the pitch becomes an unplayable 'mudfest'. We need an alternative pitch BY THE START OF THE NEXT SEASON so we can score more tries like the one featured above taken from the ITV Gallagher Premiership Rugby Highlights show.
BUT we will not stop with a second floodlit pitch. The project will only be deemed a success if we invest in the main pitch to provide a first-class playing surface for club members. We are being helped by the RFU who have allocated us a consultant, sponsored by Honda to be our mentor.
Where is the Money Coming From?
Earlier this year the club received planning permission to floodlight a second full-size pitch parallel to the current one. After much research by the club volunteers, we have the contractors in place and some of the funding.
Raising the fund can be split into three parts.
Part 1 is from the developers of the local Westway Centre who will provide monies through a Section 106 grant allocated by North Hinksey Parish Council, who fully support the project.
Part 2 is from existing club funds. The volunteers who run the club are prudent with the club's money and have built up a development fund.
Part 3 is where you come in as donors to the project.
As the present Chairman of the club, I am proud of the improvements we have made to the interior of the club and changing rooms. It is now time to push forward with improving the playing surfaces so we can achieve our vision of providing pitches fit for purpose. Whether you give £5 or £5000 your contribution helps and for that I am very grateful
