At Oxford City Farm, we are dedicated to providing accessible food and farming activities through public access and nurture sessions. By collaborating with local groups, including schools and organisations supporting vulnerable populations, we promote social inclusion and community engagement. In the past 12 months, we produced approximately 2,700 kg of fresh food, with 40% donated to volunteers and community groups, while 60% is sold locally to support the farm's activities. Our vision is to empower a diverse community to live healthy, sustainable lives while addressing local challenges. Our efforts are crucial in addressing climate action. Through our sustainable farming practices, we enhance soil health, promote biodiversity, and reduce our carbon footprint by minimising food transport and composting waste. In the past year, we engaged over 7,000 participants through 101 community farming sessions and partnered with 30 organisations for 300 field-to-fork sessions. These initiatives educate our community about sustainable food systems, empowering individuals to adopt eco-friendly practices.
