Aim: We are aiming to build an outdoor exhibition space at Queensbridge which will showcase the children's art for the whole school community.

Currently in Queensbridge, art is displayed in classrooms, corridors and on communal display boards. Beyond pupils and staff however, opportunities for the whole-school community to celebrate children’s work is limited to a few occasions, such as Parents' Evening.

We would like to change that by creating an outdoor exhibition space in the playground which would allow us to share the children’s work more easily. A project such as this could have many positive outcomes:

  • Parents, guardians and other home adults would feel more connected to the children’s work
  • Sharing work like this drives teachers and children to create amazing work and allows children to take real pride in their creations
  • Our Art Ambassadors will curate the space and create new displays at regular intervals, ensuring pupil voice is utilised
  • The creation of our space could bring together different elements of our community. In the initial design phase, we have already worked with parents who have expertise in associated areas

The proposed space would be situated in the sheltered area of our grounds and would allow for the display of both 2D and 3D work. We have a design and budget in place and parents who could lead on the implementation of this design.
