We're still collecting donations

On the 21st October 2024 we'd raised £2,798 with 28 supporters in 83 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

For the people, by the people, "Our Planet Needs You" is a community-led climate action campaign.

We're working with primary schools to distribute a poetry book that tells the story of our planet’s struggle with climate change, and what we can do to make a difference.

The book promotes nine practical initiatives we can take to help reduce pollution and carbon emissions.

For example, choosing active travel

And switching off idle devices at night

1720886915_screenshot_2024-07-13_at_17.08.11.png

Each initiative will be introduced to students through a series of practical, hand-on activities that will take place as part of the school curriculum throughout the school year.

The initiative activities will also be listed on our website and supported by volunteers from local youth organisations and community groups.

Our Short Term Goals (White City, W12)

  • 50% reduction in street litter and plastic pollution.
  • 10% decrease in airborne pollutants linked to health problems.
  • 20% increase in local solar installations.
  • 10% increase in local green cover.
  • 2000+ sign-ups to initiatives promoting low-carbon lifestyle choices.

Our Long Term Goal (UK-Wide Campaign)

Measuring Our Goals

Our website features the 'Earthometer,' a dashboard that gathers data from various sources, and tracks the collective impact of our initiatives. It measures key metrics and associated carbon savings, allowing us to report back to the community on successes. Our aim is to create a positive feedback loop that encourages sustainable change.

1722158375_screenshot_2024-07-28_at_10.13.33.png

By measuring the positive impact of these initiatives on a small scale, we aim to demonstrate the power of collective action. Our goal is to expand the campaign across London and nationwide by 2025, striving to reduce carbon emissions in the UK by at least 45% by 2030.

Unified Action with OPNY

Our nine initiatives are supported by local schools and tied to national campaigns with partners such as Kids Against Plastic, Meat-Free Monday and Re-Powering London. By uniting change-makers locally and nationally, we aim to mobilise people at all levels toward a common goal, and achieve net-zero emissions by 2030
