We run social and support sessions for carers, the person they care for, people struggling with cost of living, people who are isolated or lonely and people with varying disabilities in Calderdale, we currently have 3 sessions per week, providing meals, support, entertainment, physical and wellbeing activities, trips out and warm safe spaces

Our Place

We self fund to provide 3 sessions a week, with food, entertainment, activities, fun & laughter, companionship, days out, support and signposting.

These sessions are open to anyone in need in our community, carers and the person they care for, people who are isolated or lonely, people with disabilities or learning difficulties and or people currently struggling with the cost of living issues we face.

A cooked 2 course lunch is provided, with refreshments throughout the sessions. We have entertainers come in, we have themed sessions and fancy dress! Quizzes, bingo and raffle are a must! We have wellbeing sessions such as tai chi or zumba, massages, aromatherapy and more, we also have craft and art sessions, music sessions and talks from other organisations in our community.

Our team is a great group of volunteers who go above and beyond to help those who need it and support those who attend our sessions, as well as helping with fundraising efforts as we receive no authority funding or core funds.

The charity was started as Sunday care back in 1991 and has adapted and changed over the years to meet the needs of the people in our community as times change. We now have sessions on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays which are getting fuller as we speak, and need to fundraise to keep these sessions going (which cost approx £250 per session to run) Our outgoings are rent, food and refreshments, activities, food bank items, transport, and then extra fundraising for special events, days out and treats!
