We need to raise £1600 by 12th of September. We have to upgrade our degraded entrance track and parking area to ensure safe access for all!

by Meadowbrook (Wiltshire) CIC in Melksham, Wiltshire, United Kingdom

Hi folks.

Please take the time to read this as it explains our need to run this August appeal. We have until 12th Sept to raise £1600 needed to match funds already pledged!

Meadowbrook is a community interest company located in the heart of Wiltshire. Our semi-rural site offers meaningful activities for local folk in a a nurturing outdoor setting. We have a particular focus on supporting folk living with health challenges and social isolation. Accessibility has always been really important and we are needing your help right now to ensure we can remain accessible!

The entrance track and parking area at Meadowbrook is in urgent need of improvement before we hit another winter. We have already managed to secure £1600 (half the money needed from our local council's area board). We are needing to match fund this amount before we can claim the money. We have until the 12th September to do this. We applied for a couple of other funding pots to try and source the money but have not been successful. We're running out of time and it would be so gutting to lose the council money already pledged.

Our current entrance track and parking area consists of very sunken hardcore which is needs TLC anyway. However! The surface becomes even more slippery and churned up once any wet weather sets in. We have a brook on site that is prone to flooding. (We are in the process of addressing this issue long-term as we work with a couple of environmental organisations.) When flooding from the brook subsides, the hardcore underfoot/under-wheel is always left in a bad way.

By upgrading our track and parking this autumn, we can make the site accessible through many more months of the year and enable volunteers and session participants to get in and off site safely. Last winter/spring we had regular issues where visitors on site were getting their cars stuck in mud where the old hardcore is virtually non-existent. If we are able to raise the £1600 the work can be undertaken this autumn by a local groundworks firm we've used previously and we will be using hardcore sourced from a supplier in Frome.

PLEASE GIVE TO THIS APPEAL IF ABLE AND CLAIM A REWARD* AT THE SAME TIME TOO!

*Please note - Images of the rewards we are offering cannot be added on alongside the description (annoying we know!) Instead we will be featuring images of all rewards being offered on our social media platforms so keep an eye out for those!

Thanks so very much for all your support!

Big Love

Grace, Ja and the Meadowbrook team xx
