Our new home

Annan and District Day Centre set up as a registered charity in 2005 to support the health and well-being of individuals. We are currently based in The Market Hall, Downie’s Wynd, Annan where we have been for the past 16 years. The Market Hall is owned by our local council meaning that we have been limited as to what we can offer individuals in our area and our opening times. Due to shared access we have been unable to offer the homely service that we desire. We provide a range of services from meals within the centre, meals on wheels, footcare; both in the centre and out in the community, Tai Chi, water exercise classes twice a week and help at home. We also offer outings, holidays and theme days. We have visited Keswick, Beamish and Wales to name a few! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic our doors were closed on 17th March 2020 and we had to change the ways in which we supported our members and the local community. We had a significant rise in meals on wheels deliveries and started handing out snack packs once a week to our members which were dropped off by volunteers. We also started providing a shopping service and a prescription pick up service. We extended this from not only our members but to shielding and vulnerable individuals in the community. As our doors reopened on 17th May 2021 and we welcomed our members back following all guidance, keeping our members safe and trying to help restore some much needed normality to their lives. With restrictions still in place within our services we work towards the day that we can resume service as normal.
The move to the old library building on Charles Street has been a project that the committee and team have been working towards for many years. With everything that has been going on the news of this project has given us hope for the bright and lengthily future of Annan and District Day Centre for generations to come.
