Foundation 92 is proud to be in a position whereby it is able to use the vehicle and engagement hook of football, to engage and motivate those less fortunate within the City of Salford, to lead healthy, positive and progressive lifestyles.
Over the past four months, Foundation 92 has been working collaboratively with partners such as Public Health and Third Sector organisations, in order to develop a comprehensive understanding around how the charity may be able to use its promoting engagement hook and position in the community, to reach out to often hard to reach audiences, providing individuals with the support, advice and guidance to achieve their potential.
Over the past 18 months, Foundation 92 has seen first hand the significant challenge and disadvantage some of the City of Salford's most vulnerable has faced. Through consultation with Public Health, Third Sector partners and first hand through the charities community facing work, it has become significantly more apparent that many more people within the City of Salford are facing significant challenges, inequality and disadvantage, directly attributed to the ongoing development of mental health inequalities.
As part of Foundation 92's ongoing commitment to providing life changing services to those most at need, at an appropriate time which prevents escalation of inequalities within their lives, Foundation 92 would like to employ a full time counsellor, supported by a part time counsellor, to deliver 4000 hours of free counselling within the City of Salford.
Referrals will be made by primary care settings, public health and third sector partners. Foundation 92 has consulted with Public Health commissioners within Salford to ensure that interventions provided are delivered in line with national approved standards and add value to the local offer.
Through consultation with colleagues in Public Health, this project will meet an identified gap within local provision which the gap being services provided to individuals who are living with early onset mental health inequalities, which if counselling interventions are not provided, would escalate
