Ottery St Mary Silver Band is asking for donations to help ensure the future of both the main band and our Brass Class going into year 2021.
2020 was a significant year for OSMSB, it being our centenary year. Many events had been planned culminating in a grand concert at the end of the year. Sadly that all had to be cancelled along with our normal engagements throughout the playing season.
In a normal year, the band earns almost all of its income from performing at concerts and a range of summer and Christmas events in and around Ottery St Mary in East Devon. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, the band has not received any income, yet still has had running costs that needed to be met.
We are determined that this awful 2020 is not going to ruin our celebrations and we plan to go full steam ahead with a Centenary Year plus 1 celebration and push year 2020 well into Room 101. It is for that reason that we have entered into this Crowdfunding project and have named it the Ottery St Mary Silver Band Centenary Year plus 1.
