OnTheGo

We are Cycle of Life, an organisation dedicated to empowering disadvantaged young people aged 14-25 through cycling initiatives. 

After successfully raising £13,483 and £876 on Spacehive(Click here) and Crowdfunder(Click here), we have been delivering instrumental positive impact project like Dr Bike(Bikeability training to NHS key workers), Clean Brake(a 6 week bike training on how to cycle safely, reduce maintenance costs provided to looked after children ), and providing over 150 bikes since 2020; We are raising funds for our newest project OnTheGo that aims to provide participants with training, support and mentorship in order to start their own businesses using Cargo Bikes, creating a legitimate and innovative path to self-sufficiency.

Our vision is to bridge the gap between disadvantaged youth and the world of of legitimate business. We do this through a 12-week program that offers Functional Skills qualifications, business exposure, financial literacy, practical life skills training, and cycling based expertise. Each participant have access to a cargo bike, support with products to sell, online accounting, and mentoring leading to a clear pathway to a positive future. 

The funds we raise will be used to provide cargo bikes, products, training, and support to our participants. This will equip them with the skills and resources they need to thrive. We aim to create a self-sustaining system that not only empowers young people in our community but also fosters social action, networking opportunities, and proposals for improved city infrastructure for cargo bikes and cycling more widely.
