Optimal cord clamping/#Wait for white campaign - global professional website for parents and professionals including downloadable pdf's.

by Amanda Burleigh in Leeds, England, United Kingdom

I have campaigned for optimal cord clamping/#waitforwhite for 12 years  and started and have been running an optimal cord clamping facebook page for 5 years. The page disseminates research, information and anything optimal cord clamping and now has over 25,000 likers. The page generates a lot of enquiries from around the world from parents and professionals and I have known for a long time that a website is needed. A global website where all the information and research could be accessed by everybody.  I have tried to fund this myself but due to the set up and ongoing costs this isn't possible, I also want it to be a professional page.

Immediate cord clamping is still routine practice around the world and deprives babies of approximately 30% of their blood volume and valuable stem cells which the baby needs throughout their life. Immediate cord clamping causes anaemia which affects neurological development and behaviour which in turn impacts on health and mental health. Guidelines are now changing to recommend delayed cord clamping but this is not happening fast enough and babies are starting life with suboptimal health due to a non evidence based intervention.

A website with up to date information and research, parents stories and a meet the experts page with downloadable pdf's is the vision for the page.   The page would be a conglomerate of all things and all people wanting to move this campaign forwards.

I have attempted to start the page and got the domain but need professional help for the setting up and to help compile the content in order to make this vision a reality.  Please  could you help me? Any donation is truly welcome.
