I am raising funds for Down Syndrome Latvia NGO who are doing an amazing job and have got to my heart - I hope they will get to yours too!

Let's be honest, have you come across a situation where someone's appearance, abilities or needs don't match what people usually consider comfortable and typical?

Open your eyes, open your heart and see - maybe it doesn't matter at all what diagnosis that figure skater has... that football player on the field.. that dude on the drums in the band.. that lady in the store at the checkout.. or that security guard at the parking lot.. or that girl sat at the opposite desk in your office..

See a child, a young person, a person, rather than a diagnosis..

We all deserve the best quality of life.

But not all of us have the same start line.

I am not coming to you with a very sad story that will make you get the tissue out and feel like you don't deserve what you have been given in this life, or that you are so grateful that it hasn't happened to you.

I am simply inviting you to support the children and their parents who not only have gone through and might still be going through an extremely difficult time but also are doing their best to give their kids and themselves the quality of life we all deserve, whatever that means to them.

On the 7th of May I am running a marathon in Riga, Latvia.

Don't you love how the Universe puts everything in it's right place.?! It always fascinates me!

Earlier today on 30/03/23 I was feeling bad about myself, I knew I am very behind on my training for the marathon doubting whether I should even run it as I won't get a good time anyway. I wasn't even sure I could finish it.

I also knew that I wanted to fundraise for a charity but wasn't sure which one as I wanted it to be one based in Latvia.

So I was manifesting for the right one to come my way.

Later that day I went for a run and continued the podcast series of ''Cilvekjauda'' (my running buddy).

The next episode on the list was called ''Strength not to give up'' where Velga Polinska was talking about her journey being a mum of a child with a down syndrome and what she is doing to educate others.

Half way through listening I knew that this is the one so here I am!

It also put a few things in perspective about me considering not running the marathon due to the lack of training. Suddenly I felt like I could run 4 marathons.

Only the one for now though.

Join me in supporting Velga and Down Syndrome Latvia! I know it's a cliché but we are so much stronger together!

Lots of love to every single one of you and thank you for your support!
