Aim: Help me get these twelve angry characters to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August.

Who Am I?

My name is Alex and I am an alternative comedian born and bred in the great Southern Land of Australia. My love of comedy started when my papa placed me on his knee and Clockwork-Oranged The Young Ones and Red Dwarf into my supple toddler eyes. Flash forward 2 decades later and I have toured solo shows all around the world, receiving accolades and awards. I experience no greater joy than performing comedy and making people laugh and what better place to do so, than the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Why I Need Your Support?

As an emerging artist, securing the necessary funds for a production at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival can be an overwhelming task. Unfortunately, these financial burdens make it challenging for artists like myself to bring our dreams to life without external support.

About My Show

One Man 12 Angry Men is an absurd clown show where YOU decide the characters that appear. You enter the room to be greeted by a nervous man (me) holding up a QR code. Scan it and you will be transported to a website painted with the visages of 12 strange-looking men. With a click of a button, the die is cast, and I re-emerge as the character who received the most votes.

The show is an unpredictable, interactive and collaborative showcase where no two performances are ever the same. So please support the show that audiences have called “the most Fringe show they’ve ever seen”

For all those interested in getting a sneak peek of the characters set to appear, head over to my website, www.alexanderrichmond.com.au where I will update the show page to give more info as the Fringe approaches.

Your Impact

By contributing to my campaign, your support will help cover essential expenses. This year I am performing with the Laughing Horse, meaning that my shows will be Pay What You Want, in exchange for not having to pay venue fees myself. This has already helped considerably to alleviate the cost of performing but does mean that I will not be able to rely on any profit to fund my run. This is important to me, as I want to ensure that enjoying the arts is as accessible as possible. At a time when the cost of living is getting higher and the Edinburgh Fringe is becoming more and more expensive for audiences and performers, I wanted to ensure that people could choose to see my show without having to be concerned with the contents of their wallets.

The breakdown of where the money will be going is as follows:

  • £900 - this will cover the cost of my accommodation in Edinburgh.
  • £100 - this will cover my transport to and from the city and my daily transport use
  • £300 - will cover the cost of registration
  • £200 - will cover general living expenses such as food, props and costumes for the show and some basic promotion.

Any money raised over the initial amount will be put towards a marketing budget which will allow me to purchase posters, flyers, print advertisements and online ads.

Ways You Can Help

  • Make a Donation: Every contribution, no matter the size, brings me one step closer to achieving my goal.
  • Share and Spread the Word: Even if you are unable to contribute financially, sharing my campaign with your friends, family, and social networks can make a significant impact and increase the chances of achieving my funding goal.
  • Attend and Support: If you are planning to attend the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, I would be thrilled to have you in the audience. Your presence and support will not only make my show even more special but also help generate positive buzz and attract more spectators. Plus, if you have contributed to my campaign, I will ensure that you get a front-row seat (or back-row seat if that’s how you roll).

But Is He Any Good?

“A performer both confident and flexible in his craft” - Nightwrites

"Lightly interactive, Richmond has a knack for unthreatening participation" - Fest Mag

"Richmond's performance also shines...It's a singular performance that really helps to sell the ridiculous weirdness of the show" - Great Scott Media

"This intensely interactive performance is a joy to watch and participate, Richmond’s terrific timing, physical comedy and self-awareness accompanied with this inventive concept, keep his audience enraptured throughout" - Collage Adelaide

Thank You

If you are able to make a contribution at all, I am genuinely grateful and I hope as well that you get the chance to see the show in some form. And even if you cannot contribute, I thank you for any support you are able to provide, even if it was just the time you gave to read this.
