The Old Mansfield Woodhouse Society are keen to promote and publicise the history on our doorstep.
One way we can do this, is by placing blue plaques on buildings of historical importance. Over the years we have sited several blue plaques around Mansfield Woodhouse - each plaque provides a short explanation of why this particular building is of significant interest.
The charity is now fundraising for a new plaque to be installed at Wolf Hunt House on High Street, Mansfield Woodhouse.
Wolf Hunt House is officially the oldest standing property in Mansfield Woodhouse which dates back hundreds of years. The building got his name form the Wolf Hunters who lived in the property circa 1339.
Full permission has now been obtained from the buildings current owners and planning consent from Mansfield District Council (given the premises are listed) so we are now in the process of raising funds to cover the cost of the plaque and its' installation.
