Old Silkstone Band - National Finals

Aim: This year we are so excited to have qualified to represent Yorkshire at the finals of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain

About Old Silkstone Band 

Established in 1861, Old Silkstone Band has been providing music within the Parish of Silkstone and beyond for nearly 170 years and are at the heart of the local community. Our aim is to maintain the traditions of brass band music by promoting musicianship and provide opportunities for all ages and abilities to engage with the band to further develop their musical talents through performance within the community and beyond and we look forward to providing music for many more years to come.

Why are we crowdfunding?

This year we are so excited to have qualified to represent Yorkshire in the finals of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain, held in September at Cheltenham Racecourse.

As a village band we are entirely self-funded, which means we rely on income from concerts, donations, fundraising events and the generosity of our supporters and local community.

How can you help? 

We are very proud to be representing Yorkshire at the at this high-profile event but participating does come at a cost and requires significant funding for travel, accommodation and logistics. We have many fundraising events over the summer to help with the cost of the weekend which is a minimum of £9000.
