THE IDEA AND VISION
Odylic is a short film which explores the emotions and interconnected issues and relationships between a group of friends over one tense night.
It is an emotion led story which looks at how we all communicate and speak our truths. With themes of addiction, drinking and drugs, mental health with sub plots of friendship, love and trust, all boiling down to one main theme- chaos.
I like playing with colour and how colours represent emotions which I want to play a part in my cinematography. For example, I like the colours and style of the cinematography from "Nobody Wants This"- Netflix. The contrast, highlights, the depth of field to create the bokeh effect.
More cinematography research will be conducted and I plan to keep track of all this through social media accounts.
LET'S TALK MONEY AND TIMELINES
The icky bit, the bit we all struggle with.
So, the money being raised will go towards production fees. This covers, location hiring, props/costumes, food and travel and fees for cast and crew. My self and the producer have discussed how we want to create a unity across the board for both cast and crew and have equal pay.
As the filming of this is currently estimated to be 3 days (it's currently a 40 page script) then these fees need to cover cast and crew contributions. I can't forget about any preproduction prep work and post production editing. So those who are able to help, are also being considered in this budget.
ANYTHING EXTRA TO ADD?
I am also looking at obtaining Albert Certification, so carbon footprint will be considered and tracked throughout the whole of this production with careful consideration of location, travel, food, paper waste, electricity consumption, recycling and reusable materials.
