We need your help to secure the future of the Sanctuary! 🐷 This is "The October Field Fund"🐷

by Pear Tree Farm Animal Sanctuary in Wells, Somerset, United Kingdom

We're still collecting donations

On the 31st October 2024 we'd raised £50 with 4 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

WHO ARE WE?

Pear Tree Farm Animal Sanctuary was created in 2018, when 3 huge pigs were saved from death. Since then we have grown into a safe haven for ferrets and ducks, all the way up to huge goats and horses. We have rescued, rehabilitated and re-homed over 7,000 individuals in need, when they had nowhere else to turn to.

We are run entirely on donations, we are all volunteers, and every single penny goes towards caring for the animals that we help.

WHAT IS THE FIELD FUND?

Thanks to an incredibly kind loan of over £73,000, the Sanctuary has managed to  purchase a local piece of land. The absolutely gorgeous 3.5 acre field will be home to some of the Sanctuary long-term residents, and means that the charity can offer a safe, secure home for life to those who need it.

Why? Owning land in the charity's name provides life-long security. It means that we can be assured that this land will always be home to the animals who need it, without the uncertainty of renting, and with every donated pound and physical improvement a permanent investment to the Sanctuary and the animals who rely on us.

THE STORY SO FAR

In August we launched the 'Field Fund' campaign, to raise donations towards this huge project. Your incredibly kind donations raised a FANTASTIC £1,100, plus an extra £150 in Gift Aid!! We also received an extremely generous £5,700 grant from the wonderful team at Animal Friends Pet Insurance.

This has brought our running total so far up to a huge £6,950 - but we still have a long way to go.

With the funds already raised, YOU have managed to:

  • erect fencing to create a safe paddock within the field, which cost £2,000
  • purchase one field shelter for £625 to provide a dry space for the animals
  • create a 'yard' area to keep the animals' feet dry in wet weather, costing £3,150

We now need to continue to fundraise for:

  • £1,500 to build more field shelters to keep the animals dry and cosy in bad weather
  • £8,000 to continue the fencing and secure the rest of the land
  • £73,407 to pay back the money we have borrowed

HOW WILL WE DO IT?

Each month, we will run a "Field Fund" campaign, to raise donations towards this huge project.

We'll provide a running total each month of how much we have raised and where it is spent, so you can see the massive benefit your donations are having.

Help us to secure the future of ALL of the animals here at the Sanctuary.
Absolutely any pennies you can spare this month, would make a HUGE difference to the futures of ALL of the Sanctuary residents.

£10 would pay for a wooden fence post

£50 would pay for a roll of stock fencing wire

£100 would make a valuable dent in the loan that we have been given to purchase the land

Thank you.
