Funding for the Christmas lights was cut off a few years ago. The existing lights need restoration and repair, so in 2022, the Oban Festive Lights organization was founded with help from BID4Oban. Representatives from the Community Council, Fire & Rescue Service, Oban Electrical Services Ltd, and interested locals make up the group's membership.
Volunteers, affectionately named the Festive Light Fairies, work hard throughout the year raising funds for new displays to make our wee town shine. The town's many great shops, cafes, restaurants, and other outlets work hard year-round and always make a special effort at Christmas time. What better way to compliment and thank them than with new town festive lights?
To keep the tradition alive and ensure our town glows with festive cheer, we need your support. Whether it’s donating to our tins, attending fundraising events, or buying raffle tickets, every penny helps. Together, we can make this year’s Christmas lights brighter and better, bringing joy and a sense of community to everyone in Oban. Let's come together to light up our town and celebrate the festive season in style.
